Dear customer and partner
As mentioned in our latest newsletter there is now a great demand for transport capacity in Europe. The main reason is the extreme quantities of goods in addition to huge delays in the deliveries of new transport equipment (trailers and trucks) that have been planned for traffic in the coming months. We are also noticing that transport within Europe is increasing due to reduced ship and container capacity from the Far East with extremely high prices. This affects the part-load networks in Europe.
In FREJA we have already secured an increased capacity during this spring, but it is not sufficient to cover the increasing activity. We must therefore obtain more capacity in a marked that already has a shortage of resources, and we will have to introduce a capacity surcharge, with effect from the 5 of July, on all import shipments by truck and train from Europe.
Current rates from 5 July (Only import shipments from Europe to Norway)
Minimum per shipment | Per 100 kg | Maximum per shipment (FTL) |
NOK 49 | NOK 12,50 | NOK 1.880 |
We are however pleased that most ferries soon will be back in service and that we will remove the temporary redeployment surcharge from 1 july. For you as customers and partners, this means reduced shipping costs.
We are following the situation closely and will continuously assess any changes. We greatly appreciate their understanding.
